In MapleStory Classic World, the Halloween reward depends on collecting quest items, not on how much MS Classic World Mesos you have available. Each character must gather its own candies, so the more useful decision is where to train and how much time to reserve for deliveries.

Plan around the event deadline

The event runs from October 28, 2026, at 12:00 AM UTC through November 18 at 11:59 PM UTC. For players on Pacific time, that endpoint is 3:59 PM on November 18; on Eastern time, it is 6:59 PM. A character needs to reach level 10 to participate, and no separate event patch is required.

The quest calendar lists availability through November 19, but the event itself ends earlier. Finish the candy collection and delivery route before the November 18 deadline rather than counting on the later calendar entry. Leave room for travel, especially if you intend to complete the quest on several characters.

Choose a farming map for quick kills

Talk to Malady in Henesys or Kerning City and accept Halloween Candies. She asks for 100 candies, and the quest can be completed once per character. Monsters at level 10 or above can drop the item, so you have a choice of training locations rather than a single required map.

Lower-level options include Ribbon Pigs, Dark Stumps, Octopuses, and Green Mushrooms. Orange Slimes in Henesys, Ellinia, Kerning City, and Perion can drop candies as well. Pick enemies your character can defeat quickly instead of moving to a tougher map solely because the monsters are higher level.

No drop rate is published, so there is no reliable kill count to budget for the full collection. The candies cannot be traded or transferred to another character, and unused ones disappear when the event ends. Collect all 100 on the character that accepted the quest before switching to another.

Reserve time for the delivery route

After turning in the candies, Malady offers the hidden follow-up Trick or Treat! She gives you three pouches for children spending Halloween alone. The reward requires the deliveries as well as the initial collection, so reaching 100 candies is not the end of the trip.

Take the pouches to Anne on The Hill East of Henesys, Estelle on The Field South of Ellinia, and Ronnie in the Tree Tunnel north of Ellinia. Once all three have received their pouches, return to Malady in either Henesys or Kerning City to claim the Pumpkin Basket.

Decide whether the sword deserves scrolls

The Pumpkin Basket is a permanent, tradable one-handed sword requiring level 10. Any job can equip it, and its listed attributes are 27 weapon attack, 3 speed, Fast attack speed, and seven upgrade slots. A Warrior planning to become a Fighter or Page can consider it as an early weapon.

Other jobs may prefer trading the sword rather than investing in upgrades. Older item lists can show different attributes, so inspect the weapon in game before spending mesos on scrolls. Its NPC sale price is only 1 meso, and an account with an unpaid Debt balance must clear it before trading or opening a shop.

Before farming, check whether you also need Maple Leaves for The Journey Begins check-in; those drop from monsters at level 10 and above too.
